FIRE crews were called to a fire in a block of Southend flats last night.
While Southend crews were attending the fire in Tickfield Avenue, Prittlewell, Rayleigh Weir firefighters on standby in Southend were sent to tackle a fire which broke out in the communal area of a high rise block.
The fire broke out at 10.30pm in Beaulieu Court, Wittingham Avenue but was out by the time crews got there.
A Fire Service investigation will be carried out to establish the cause of the incident.
