Southend towerblocks raided by police

POLICE raided towerblocks in Southend town centre this morning in search of Class A drugs.

About 40 officers flooded into Pennine flats and Chiltern flats, in Coleman Street, and Quantock flats in Chichester Road, along with a team of sniffer dogs.

They arrived at about 10am before searching communal areas on every floor for heroin and crack cocaine. No drugs were found during the operation but it is hoped the dealers will have been dsirupted from their activity.

So true, lol. You have to wonder if the drug dealers are one step ahead of the police.

A drug dealer was operating at the junction of Wimborne Road and Sutton Road as I walked into Sutton Road from Guildford Road yesterday at about 1.00 PM. A white man about 5’6” with dark hair and wearing a black quilted jacket and jeans took a small wrap from a Somali. The Somali then returned to his flat above the shops and the white guy went back into the Guildford Pub.
Trouble is things like that are everyday occurrences in this area. If people are going to want drugs somebody is going to supply them.

I would hope that you reported this? What with the constant criticism of the drug problem in the area from many people I would hope that if anyone does witness anything like this that they do report it to the Police. It is intelligence like this that enables them to conduct these raids and disrupt the dealers.

they raided the flat above the shop the other day with armed police after the gun incident in sutton road.
Southend council just granted a off leicence permission to open in welfares old electrical shop over the road from the guilford with no pbjection from the police how can they allow a late night shop to open in a parade of shops which has this problem on the door step ??
