A STUDIO to help budding entrepreneurs get their own business up and running will open next week.
The brand new Enterprise Studio at the Seedbed Business Centre in Shoebury is opening its doors on Tuesday.
The studio will help people who are not in full or part-time education, employment or training to gain the skills to help them start their own businesses. They can try out their business ideas with support from staff at the centre.
The Seedbed Business Centre was recently awarded £55,000 from the East of England Development Agency, in partnership with Southend Together, to support creating new businesses at the site.
Centre manager Ian Kettlewell said: “This is a great development for the Seedbed Centre as our whole ethos is about helping businesses to get started and then flourish – and these new facilities will really support that aim.
“We are now able to offer people the chance to develop a wide range of essential business skills in a supportive environment, backed up with the technology for them to put what they are learning in to practice.”
The cash is also being used to create more purpose-built business units to support new business and to improve eco-friendly facilities to cut down the centre’s carbon footprint.
The centre is a complex of business units in Vanguard Way, which provides office, studio, workshop and storage accommodation of various sizes up to 1,500 square feet.
