DISABLED children can now play with new, colourful toys, in and around Southend.

Mayor Ann Holland launched the new range of sensory toys at Shoebury children’s centre.

The toys, which include fibre-optics, can be rented to local community centres around the Southend area for families to use wherever they live in the district.

Anne Withington, a project worker, said: “The toys will enable local centres to accommodate more severely disabled children and their families, without them having to travel miles to visit specialist centres.”

For more information regarding the sensory toys, contact Ann Withington, project worker for Aiming High for Disabled Children on 07775 403506.
