Little Havens chance to win Lottery award

A CHARITY will find out tomorrow night if it has won a Lottery award.

On Saturday 4th September, Little Havens Children’s Hospice will find out whether they have scooped the National Lottery Award for the Best Lottery Funded Voluntary/Charity Project during The National Lottery’s Big Night.

Little Havens was awarded £650,000 from the Big Lottery Fund in 2002 which funded eight specialist children’s nurses for three years securing the charity a place in the final of the awards earlier this year.

The star studded ceremony, hosted by musical star John Barrowman, will be broadcast live on BBC1 at 7.40pm from the Camden Roundhouse in London.

Little Havens head of care, Lauren Summers, said: “We are in competition with two other fantastic charities so we’re keeping our fingers crossed.

"I hope the National Lottery Awards has helped to give people an insight into Little Havens - it is a lifeline to so many families across Essex.”

The charity will be awarded with a £2,000 prize if they win.

The hospice provides respite breaks, symptom control and end-of-life care for children and teenagers living with serious conditions.

Hopefully this will happen for Little Havens as this is such a deserving organisation. Good luck.
