Nice to see that if you are in the Leigh Police area, you'll have the Police making enquiries & giving publicity to such crimes.
My own car, parked at the rear of my home was broken into just before Christmas, & has since been written off as a result, causing me considerable distress both personally & financially. The Police closed the file within a week, & despite the presence of forensic evidence no fingerprints etc were taken. Despite the reticence of the Police Officer who took my statement, I have since found out that there have numerous such incidents in my area, Westcliff, & the model of car I had is well-known for being broken into.
I hope that the victims of these crimes have a better experience than I have.

My van was nicked. It was third party and all the police did was interrogate me.
I kept telling them it was third party so I cannot claim on the insurance. The penny didn't drop. Nor did they find my van!

a) when it's the amount of (proper) coppers that are, at any one time, out on the beat rather than sitting somewhere in their cars scoffing doughnuts and drinking coffee or doing something equally as proactive...

b) when it's about as far as the average PCSO can count....
