Man charged after Southend seafront dog attack

A MAN has been charged following a horrific dog attack which left a seven-year-old boy with severe injuries.

Police have arrested and charged a 29-year-old man from north London in connection with the attack on Southend seafront in August.

The man was arrested by officers yesterday, February 12.

He has been charged with being a person in charge of a dog and allowing it to be dangerously out of control in a public place and causing injury in respect of the incident, which happened on August 5, 2011.

The man has been released on bail to appear before magistrates in Southend on February 22.
