FIREFIGHTERS were called to Tilbury Docks in the early hours of the morning when a electric crane box set alight.
Crews from Southend and Rayleigh Weir attended the scene to assist firefighters from Grays and Orsett.
A specialist electrician was also needed to isolate the electrical supply from the sub station.
The incident happened just after 1.30am and the crews spent two hours tackling the flames using dry powder.
A thermal image camera was used to check for any remaining hotspots before they left the scene.
