Of course everyone objects to drug dealing in the street, haven't you read any of cannabis stories before posting? And where does it say that adults are doing the selling, at 'street' level it's usually kids selling to other kids at vastly inflated prices. But none of this is relevant to this story as they were hardly likely to flood the neighbourhood with 5 plants in flower, almost certainly for personal use only. . One of the key arguments for decriminalisation is that it would take cannabis out of the hands of criminals who will sell to anyone who has the money and allow us to regulate who gets it and who doesn't. It wouldn't completely stop the kids getting hold of it but it would make it a lot harder in the same way that stricter enforcement of alcohol sales has halved underage alcohol consumtion over the last decade. Check out the results in Holland, Portugal, Australia etc where the number of young smokers went down as cannabis was deciminalised. Think about it. . As for the quibbling about the quantity of cannabis in this story, if you'd read the comments you would know that the Police weigh the lot and multiply it by the current 'street price', which is completely misleading as only the dried flowers - not the wet stalks and leaves - are smoked. The paradox is that the Police are well aware of this and only give a caution for this much plant material whereas £7k's worth of dried flowers would definitely be prosecuted as a commercial venture rather than a personal stash. . Cater Wood Creeper you pedantic muppet, we all know cannabis has been around for a very long time - it's a plant! - but it's only been widely available in this country for maybe 43 or 44 years (yes I can be that precise) Ok? . It's going to be legal one day so get used to it.
yes you're right 60 saplings is insignificant.
You grow in batches you muppet, these saplings (ha ha!) were probably in groups of different sizes so as the adult plants flower they can be replaced by up and coming young adults. How much do you think you get off one plant? Tons?!
you are clueless. 5 mature plants and 60 saplings. how is that relay production? it's desperate"

Cannabis worth £7,000 found at flat in Shoebury

A crop of cannabis with a street value of £7,000 has been seized from a flat in Shoebury by police.

Cops busted the plantation consisting of five fully grown plants, 60 saplings and a bunch of harvested leaves in a drying area at the property in West Road on Friday.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.

He was later handed a caution by police.

A woman was also arrested at the address, but was later released without charge.
