Bucket of water puts out flat fire in Southend

Firefighters used a bucket of water to extinguish a fire in a flat in Southend.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, crews from Southend and Leigh fire stations were called out to the apartment in York Road to reports of a small fire.

The crews were able to put the flames out with the bucket of water by 3.40am before blowing out smoke from the building using a fan.

The cause of the blaze is unknown and is being investigated by both Essex Fire and Police.
