Updated: Teenagers arrested after robbery in Shoebury park

TWO teenagers arrested after a robbery in Shoebury have appeared in court.

The attack happened when two male students were walking through a park near to the junction of Maplin Way North and Delaware Road at 11.30pm on Sunday, June 24. They were approached by two men who asked them for a cigarette. Both students were then assaulted and sustained facial cuts and bruises while a mountain bike, a wallet, a mobile telephone and bike chain were stolen.

A 15-year-old boy and Alfred Tusha were arrested in Southend on Tuesday, June 26 and have subsequently each been charged with two counts of robbery. The Southend boy and the 18-year-old unemployed man from Arnold Avenue in the town were detained in police custody prior to their appearances at Southend Magistrates Court on Thursday, June 28.
