The A12 was closed by Essex Police after a lorry crashed into a bridge.
The road going Londonbound was closed near to J12 at Shenfield, and all traffic was halted by Essex Police.
Reports of the incident first came in at around 7.40am.
Highways England warned drivers on Twitter that a diversion had been put in place after the incident.
