THIRTEEN gardens in Rayleigh were opened for members of the public to view on Bank Holiday Monday.
Flower lovers enjoyed the sights and smells of residents' gardens and plants were on sale at Holy Trinity Church on Rectory Garth. The day raised nearly £3,500, all of which went to the church.
Organiser Ann Jolly said: "We normally hold the garden trail in August. It was nice for some people to be able to see the same gardens, but at a different time of the year.
"The day went extremely well. All the gardens were different. Some gardens were traditional cottage ones, some were labour saving or modern gardens."
