I've supported the Wickford masterplan since it was first suggested as I have lived in the town all my life and feel it needs some tender loving care.

The town as a whole is not that bad, but it is in serious need of tidying up which in turn might bring some better shops.

I have just walked into Wickford to buy a couple of mens T-shirts. New Look was about the only store worth going to, but now it seems no longer to sell men's clothes.

This leaves the male population of Wickford to shop in either Peacocks or Mackays. I don't want to sound like a snob, but it is hardly high street fashion at its best in Wickford.

This brings me back to the masterplan. The idea was to have new shoppng areas, nightlife area, community area, but instead it seems we to have one large town full of flats.

We need a better town centre, with free parking on weekends, which might attract better shops.
