How I agree with the Echo reader (July 6) who commented on the filthy toilets at Southend bus station.

I often walk past the toilets on my way home and they are always in the same condition so obviously someone isn’t doing their job correctly.

I actually know now to hold my breath as I walk past them as the stench that wafts from them is disgusting – and that’s just the ladies. I will not use them anymore.

I don’t know how people can sit and enjoy their food in the little cafe which is just yards away in the same building.

I use the toilets in the Royals before getting on the bus. These toilets are lovely and clean and I often see cleaning staff in there taking a pride in their job.

Whoever is responsible for the shameful state of the bus station toilets should be sacked.
