Thank you for your careful reporting of the case of convicted paedophile Paul O’Reilly (Mar 2).

There is a risk that concerned parents might link the youth club mentioned in your report with that running at St Cedd’s building on the Mendip estate in Westcliff.

We would like to reassure residents Mr O’Reilly was never a leader at the club which ran there some years ago and that the current leadership has all the training and CRB checks required in our modern world.

It is to be hoped youngsters will not be denied the opportunity to attend this community facility on the basis of innuendo.

We welcome any inquiry from parents in any doubt as to the safety of their children.
