George De’ath was delighted to see a clamping van clamped, but was less happy to see the driver giving the finger to the proceedings, questioning whether an ordinary motorist at the mercy of the clamping firm would have got away with insulting behaviour (Mar 9).
Another point which might be pursued is how lightly the firm got off with a £100 charge by Southend Council … something these parasitic outfits might similarly emulate if they didn’t all have their collective finger in such a fat profitable pie of money-making motorist-misery.
How do they get away with it? And who decides what a reasonable profit is?
It seems, curiously, that only they do.
