So bored with footie pundits

Why do we have to endure 30 minutes or so of football punditry before a match begins on television, then a further 15 minutes at half time, and then more at the end?

The talk is often tedious, mundane and stale, mostly from footballers and presenters who have made their reputations as players. As these people are reported to be very highly paid, couldn’t their time on television be reduced to reasonable levels and thereby help to lower the costs of licenses.

They could be dispensed with altogether as radio is the medium where summaries are really essential.

Why do we have to endure football at all?

Every advert on the TV, every shop window. Everywhere you look, football is there.

Just another way of extracting money from us.

I HATE FOOTBALL....

Surely a letter and subsequent comment of this nature would be better directed at the broadcasting companies or the national press, rather than a local newspaper.

I never watch them live.

Record them on Sky+ (or other media) then you can skip the chat and adverts.

With Sky or Freeview, you can even select Radio/TV or no commentary at all.
