SHOEBURY Garrison entrance is little changed. The gates are still topped with glass lanterns, although bollards and iron gates beefed up security.
The garrison, which was previously military barracks owned by the Ministry of Defence, was sold to Gladedale Homes, which is now known as Country and Metropolitan.
Ten years later, development work at the garrison site is edging its way towards completion.
In the past few years the garrison site has seen hundreds of new homes built, as well as the £6.9million Hinguar Primary School which opened in October 2012.
