THE newly-formed Southend based Locker Room have joined the Amateur Boxing Union.
This organisation works in conjuction with various exisiting contact sports organisations and breaks up the monoply held by various leading organisations.
And gym owner James Chisholm, a former professional fighter himself, believes it will make a big difference.
“It gives contact sports men, women and children of all ages more choice and contests but more importantly helps small clubs and indivduals that have been frozen out by selfishness and internal polictics,” said Chisholm.
“Boxing and other contact sports organisations can work together and not against each other.”
The Locker Room, which is based at Southend Central train station, is running a junior boxing summer camp which begins at the end of July. For further details on this or the club contact the gym on 01702 338402.
