POLICE did not use inappropriate force restraining a man, an inquest jury has concluded.
Jurors returned a narrative verdict at the inquest of Faisal Al-Ani and found that police officers did not use inappropriate force when restraining him in the High Street, Southend in 2005.
However they did find that inappropriate consideration was given and inappropriate attention was paid to Mr Al-Ani’s welfare.
Mr Al-Ani died in the custody suite in Southend police station on July 31.
Mr Al-Ani, 43, was a father of five, his youngest is now just 11.
