Freddy Eastwood - back in the starting line-up
SOUTHEND United manager Paul Sturrock has made three changes to his starting line-up for this afternoon’s game against York City, with Freddy Eastwood and Marc Laird both being named in the side.
Laird has been handed an immediate debut in central midfield after signing on loan from Leyton Orient, while Eastwood will partner Britt Assombalonga in attack for his 150th game for the club.
Laird has come in for John Spicer and Eastwood for David Martin, meaning Gavin Tomlin will be playing on the left wing.
The final change comes in defence where Anthony Straker has replaced Mark Phillips, who is only fit enough to be selected among the substitutes.
Straker lines up at left-back, with Chris Barker moving back in to the middle of the defence alongside Ryan Cresswell.
Southend United: Smith, Clohessy, Cresswell, Barker, Straker, Tomlin, Woodyard, Laird, Hurst, Eastwood, Assombalonga
Substitutes: Corr, Martin, Clarke-Harris, Phillips, Bentley, Spicer & Benyon
