SOUTHEND United striker Gavin Tomlin is keen to continue his new found goalscoring form.

The forward has now bagged five goals in his last four games having previously gone 10 games without hitting the back of the net.

And he now wants to keep on working his way on to the score-sheet.

“Things have started to turn for me and I'm really pleased,” said Tomlin.

“I kept positive and now things our starting to go my way.

“I've got a few goals and want to keep that going.

“But most importantly we're now getting some consistency going as a team and that's something we were lacking earlier on in the season.”

Tomlin has now scored a brace in his last two games, with the latest coming against AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night.

Blues ran out 4-0 winners at the Kingsmeadow Stadium and Tomlin is confident the team can now continue that good form when they return to Roots Hall to face Rochdale.

“We need to do better at home but I don't think we'll have any problems now,” said Tomlin.

“We're all very confident and we've got ourselves on a real roll which we want to keep going.

“Our aim is very much automatic promotion this year and we're beginning to show why we've always felt that would be possible for us this season.”
