Mark Phillips - back in the starting line-up
SOUTHEND United manager Paul Sturrock has made three changes to his starting line-up for this afternoon's FA Cup clash against Brentford at Roots Hall.
Centre-back Mark Phillips has been handed a recall at the heart of the defence against his former side and will also captain the team after replacing Chris Barker.
He drops to the bench and that means Luke Prosser has been pushed out to left-back.
In midfield, Alex Woodyard has been come in for the departed Tamika Mkandawire while Barry Corr has replaced the injured Britt Assombalonga in attack.
Southend United: Smith, Clohessy, Cresswell, Phillips, Prosser, Woodyard, Hurst, Laird, Timlin, Tomlin, Corr
Subs: Straker, Eastwood, Martin, Bentley, Spicer, Barker & Benyon
