GAVIN Tomlin is confident Southend United will soon get their promotion campaign back on track.
Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Exeter City was Blues' third league reverse in a row.
But Tomlin is certain Paul Sturrock's side will soon return to winning ways.
“We’ve spoken in the changing room after the game about everything that happened and we’ve just said that we must respond now, “said Tomlin, Southend's top goalscorer this term.
“I have no doubt that we will because we’ve got some very good players in this team and we know we can play much better than we did against Exeter.
“The second-half just wasn’t good enough and we struggled to create any clear cut chances but I'm confident we will respond.”
And Tomlin is also adamant he will soon be back among the goals.
The 29-year-old has not worked his way on to the score-sheet in his last five games.
But he is sure that barren run will soon come to an end.
“I’ve been through it already this season where I struggled to find the back of the net,” said Tomlin.
“However, I showed that I can score goals and I’m confident that I will find the back of the net again before long.”
