MAX Crumpton has been selected in England rugby team’s under 20 squad for the forthcoming Six Nations Championships.

The 19-year-old, who plays at hooker, has previously played for his country at under 16, 18 and 19 age groups.

And his father Paul insisted the youngster was delighted by his latest call up.

“Max has been working really hard and is obviously very pleased to have been selected for England again,” said Paul.

“He’s been picked as part of a 32-man squad, but his aim is to figure in their first game and that’s what he’s working towards at the moment.”

England’s under 20 team, who will be looking to defend their Six Nations crown, kick off their campaign at home to Scotland on Friday, February 1, in a match which will be screened live on Sky Sports.

England will travel to Ireland the following Friday before hosting France and Italy.

They then finish the championships by travelling to Wales, and Crumpton will be looking to impress during the competition.

The Hadleigh-based youngster, who attended King John School, has also been making big strides forward in his club career this season.

He made his first team debut for Saracens as a late replacement against Leicester Tigers in the LV Cup in November.

And he has gained further experience by joining National League One side Old Albanians on loan.

Crumpton has also continued his development by playing for Saracens’ second team this term.
