THERE are a few heads down in our squad at the moment and the best way to sort that out is by getting a win.

Results haven’t gone our way in the last few weeks and we want to get ourselves back on the rails again, starting with tomorrow’s game at Chesterfield.

I think it’s another difficult and dangerous game for us because they’re a very good side with some exciting forward players and it will be tough for us there.

They had a good 3-0 win against Northampton in their last match and I can’t see there being too many changes from the team they fielded that day.

That makes it tough for us and the match will not be played in the best of conditions either.

The cold weather has also made training hard but we’ve been able to use the facilities at the centre in Westcliff which we’re hugely grateful for and we also went to the David Beckham academy.

We managed to work on a few things there and the bottom pitch at the training ground hasn’t been too bad for us to use either.

After the Plymouth postponement, we’re itching to get back playing again but we won’t be taking any chances on the injuries we have.

Anyone who misses training today won’t be considered for the match tomorrow and one or two will be facing late fitness tests.

I know Ryan Cresswell has said he’s ready to play but that’s necessarily the view of the medical department.

He hasn’t trained this week yet and we will need to see him train if he is to be involved this weekend.

EVERYONE is talking about Eden Hazard altercation with a ball boy which led to him being sent off at Swansea City.

But, as usual, I think the media has emphasised what has gone on hugely and I don’t think there was any malice shown by Hazard.

He’s gone to kick the ball and has unfortunately kicked the boy which is something he’s paid the price for.

If it was my club or player involved I’d be wanting to get to the bottom of why the ball boy is keeping hold of the ball.

But, in my view, it should only have been a yellow card.

I though it was harsh to show him a red but I know I will be in the minority there!

WE’RE working hard on bringing players in the football club and I’m hopeful something may be completed before tomorrow’s game.

At the moment we have our fingers in several pies and I’ve drawn up lists of possible transfers.

It’s all about bringing in the right kind of players and that could be in midfield, out wide or up front.

I think it’s also important to move people on because I don’t like seeing them disappointed when they’re on the bench or haven’t made the squad.

They should be playing in somebody else’s first team and that’s something we’re also working on sorting out.

Like all football clubs we need to balance the books but we do have a small squad and I would hate for injuries and suspensions to cost us dear.

We have eight games in February and March isn’t much better so we may well need to bring in a couple more players.

Our strongest 11, 12 or 13 can cope with any team we play in the league but I do feel we need better strength in depth.
