ACCRINGTON Stanley boss Leam Richardson was stunned his side failed to beat Southend United.

Richardson’s side led 1-0 with eight minutes to go against 10 man Blues.

And he was disappointed not to have claimed all three points.

"I couldn't tell you have we've not won the game,” said Richardson.

“Southend had one half-chance and scored a goal when they were down to 10 men and at their weakest.

"That was frustrating but, on the positive side, I couldn't be prouder and I couldn’t have asked any more of the players.

“We've put a solid performance and the Southend staff will be rubbing their hands together knowing they've gone away with a point.”
