Southend United's Barry Corr: We should all stand by Bilel Mohsni

BARRY Corr has urged everyone connected with Southend United to remain right behind Bilel Mohsni.

The Frenchman was sent off after just 27 minutes on his return to action against Northampton Town at Roots Hall on Saturday.

But Corr wants Mohsni to remain with Blues and make amends for his red card.

“Bilel has come in and he's just made an honest mistake and I'd like to see him stay here now,” said the Irish striker.

“He hasn't lost his temper, he's gone in for a tackle which he's mistimed and I know some people will be saying it's the same old, same old but let's give him a chance.

“I'm happy to see him back, it was a bold decision from the manager and it might now look as though it hasn't worked.

“But what he did wasn't at all malicious and no-one can deny the talent he has so he could well have a big part to play for us during the rest of the season.”

I tend to agree with Barry Corr. The fans would have thought different of Bilel if he had scored two goals and we went on to get three points. He does create that kind of excitement for the fans. Remember McInroe in tennis, and Steve Logan in wrestling? They were characters in sport and the fans loved them.

I tend to agree with Barry Corr. Bilel did make (another) mistake but everybody agrees it was not malicious, so give him another chance. I am sure he will score many goals for the team.

Opinion will be divided on the whole Mohsni saga. Some will be black and white about it in that he was dis-loyal and so should never wear the shirt again. Others will look at the WHOLE situation. Let's face it, if we had a bigger squad and all of our first choce centre backs were not injured/suspended the Mohsni wouldn't have got a re-call. Also, from the clubs point of view, if we want to sell him then being in the shop window as it were is obviously going to help, where as training alone in France won't.
These are desperate times at The Blues and so radical choices have to be made. Unfortunately that decision didn't pay off on Saturday, but I think if Mohsni can help us scrape a play off place then this won't be the last we see of him. UTB!

Cannot seeing us winning against Orient a much as it pains me to say it. We simply have too many injuries. On the bright side - Cresswell, Moshni and Tomlin back in and we'll make the play offs and win at Wembley.

Forget Wembley mid table the best, we are simply not good enough and until we get a new backer we will languish in League 2
