WYCOMBE Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth was left pointing the finger at his defence following the Chairboys' 2-1 defeat against Southend United.

The home-side had led 1-0 at the break before Blues fought back in the second half.

But the manner of Southend's goal frustrated Ainsworth.

“They were both bad goals to give away and I'm disappointed,” said the former Queens Park Rangers winger.

“I had to tell a couple of players who didn't defend properly how I felt about it because they needed to know but the two goals were both avoidable from our point of view.

“The positive side to our performance was that we created more than enough chances and looked good going forward.

“However, if you're letting goals like that in at the back then you will pay the price for it and that's what happened here.”
