Brayley makes it 12 points from 15 as new Basildon boss
BERTIE Brayley continued his excellent start as manager of Basildon United by making it 12 Essex Senior League points from a possible 15 with a 3-1 home win over London APSA on Wednesday.
The player-manager scored the third of those goals 15 minutes from time after Paul Shave and Jamie Williams had given them a 2-0 lead at the interval.
Samson Ogunwole scored APSA’s consolation in the 55th minute.
The Bees will look to continue that good form when they travel to Sawbridgeworth Town today.
But it was a disappointing Wednesday evening for Bowers & Pitsea as they fell to a 4-0 defeat at Haringey & Waltham Development. John Doyle will be looking for a response from his side when they go to fifth-placed Enfield 1893 today.
Eddie Hart scored an 85th minute winner to give Southend Manor a welcome 1-0 win at Sporting Bengal on Wednesday, and they’ll look to make it back-to-back wins for the first time in four months when they host bottom-club Clapton today.
Hullbridge Sports enjoyed a thumping 3-0 win at home to Bethnal Green United on Tuesday, courtesy of two own goals and a penalty from Jimmy Cox. Sports are away to Sporting Bengal today.
Great Wakering – who’ve scored 10 goals in two handsome wins in their last two games – will continue their pursuit of league leaders Burnham Ramblers with a visit from London APSA.
