South Woodham Ferrers Rugby Club keep on trail of Norwich

SOUTH Woodham Ferrers maintained their push for promotion from London Three North East with a 16-6 win at Wanstead.

Second-placed Woodham trailed 6-0 following two penalties by the visitors.

But prop Langley touched down from a maul to cut that lead to 6-5 at half-time.

After that, Harper scored a penalty to put South Woodham 8-6 in front before two penalty misses by the visitors were punished by a second Harper penalty which made it 11-6.

And Neil Gittos went over in the right corner following a late line out to seal the win and keep Woodham two points behind leaders Norwich.

They won at 28-13 at home to Canvey Island at the weekend – but they have played a game more than Woodham.
