BASILDON face the toughest possible test in the London One North this weekend as they take on unbeaten London One North leaders Bury St Edmunds.
Bury have triumphed in all 21 of their matches this term and are currently 15 points clear of second placed Eton Manor.
In stark contrast, Basildon remain second from bottom in the table and are 13 points from safety with just six games to go.
Rochford Hundred, who are five points below Basildon, are also in deep danger at the foot of the table and they travel to fellow strugglers Beaconsfield this weekend looking for a vital victory to keep alive their slight hopes of survival.
In what will be their last away match of the year Tom Corbet comes in to the team at hooker and Byron Defreitas moves to prop.
Gavin Tusini also returns at centre after injury and will play alongside Matt Stewart.
But Hundred’s first team manager Graham Pratt is expecting a tricky encounter.
“Beaconsfield are a good outfit,” said Pratt.
“The boys will need to do something special if they want to get a good result but we shall see what happens.”
In London Three North East, second placed South Woodham Ferrers will be confident of winning when they head to bottom of the table East London who have yet to win this season.
Second from bottom Canvey Island are also in action when they host fifth placed Cantabrigian looking to work their way out of danger.
In Essex One, sixth placed Billericay are at home to the team just below them in the table, Bancroft, while in Essex Two there is a local derby between Stanford le Hope and Pegasus Palmerians.
