Alleyn Court School cross-country event postponed due to snow

TODAY'S cross-country competition at Alleyn Court School has been postponed due to the snow that has hit south Essex.

Around 300 pupils in Years 3 to 6 were due to compete in eight races at the Wakering Road School this morning.

Organisers are planning to reschedule the event and although a new date has yet to be set, Alleyn Court head of PE Noel Smith said the event would probably take place after the Easter school holidays.

Children from Alleyn Court and others from primary schools in the Southend and Rochford districts - including Chalkwell, Grovewood, Plumberow and Bournemouth Park - were due to participate.
