DEREK Bowden will start his new role as Essex County Cricket Club chief executive on Tuesday, April 2, the club has announced.
Bowden was appointed early in the year following the departure of David East.
Essex Cricket chairman Nigel Hilliard said: “We look forward to working with Derek in what will be a momentous period for the club with the ground redevelopment imminent.”
Bowden brings a wealth of experience from both the business and sporting worlds, as former chief executive officer at Ipswich Town and more than 18 years in various senior management roles at advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi.
Former Essex wicketkeeper East has taken up the position of chief executive at the Abu Dhabi & Emirates Cricket Board.
