Rochford Hundred bid to get back to winning ways against South Woodham Ferrers
10:00am Friday 4th October 2013 in Sport
ROCHFORD Hundred will be bidding to get back to winning ways when they host South Woodham Ferrers in London Two North East tomorrow.
Third-placed Rochford suffer-ed their first defeat of the season last weekend, losing 21-17 at Chelmsford.
And first team manager Graham Pratt is keen for them to get back on track at the first time of trying.
“We need a good win to keep our momentum going, especially after the setback of last weekend,” said Pratt.
“Although we haven’t played them on a regular league basis, we know South Woodham will be a threat as they are just below us in the table.
“Any slip up could be crucial but we will be at home with a good supporting crowd so that should give us the platform we need.”
Woodham were promoted from London Two North East last season and have continued to impress at the higher level.
They won their first two games of the season before also suffering their first defeat of the campaign at the weekend after suffering a 55-10 reverse at Saffron Walden.
In contrast, Basildon secured their first victory of the new term last Saturday, edging out Braintree 34-28.
And the Gardiners Close team will want to build on that when they travel to Norwich tomorrow.
In Essex Two, Pegasus Palmerians are at home to Burnham on Crouch.
