Southend United 2, Dagenham & Redbridge 5 - LIVE
This live event has finished
Thanks for following the action here tonight. Full report will be in tomorrow's Echo. But it's not a night any Shrimper will remember with great fondness.
Brown: "There were still positives. Cauley got two goals & Jack Payne showed his youthful enthusiasm. We made some individual errors but I'm not going to moan about them. It was a bad result and I will study this game long & hard. I thought we edged the first half but when we needed character & resilience we didn't have any."
Brown: "I'll take the blame for Paul Smith's display. He hasn't played for a while and did show signs of being rusty. But that's my fault."

Been a bad first half here at Roots Hall.
