Racing driver Bradley Smith signs off with win in season finale

RADICAL SR3 Challenge champion Bradley Smith completed his season in dominant fashion at Snetterton.
The driver from Billericay had already wrapped up the title heading into the two end of season races at the Norfolk circuit.
And after bagging two more pole positions in qualification he was determined to sign off in style.
Smith was hampered by the safety car coming out on the first lap and then a tap on the rear of his car from Patrick McClughan affected the handling of the Essex driver’s car.
Smith led for the early part of the race but found himself seventh after the pit stops and climbed back up to fourth.
He took third on the last lap after race leader James Abbott was ordered to pit for a penalty, allowing Smith to close the gap on Radical works team driver before getting past him at Riches.
The second race saw Mectech Motorsport driver Smith convert his pole position into a race win.
He withstood pressure from Bradley Ellis and Alex Kapadia to pit from the front and rejoin in third.
He picked off Tom Jordan in Kapadia’s car for second and set about getting past Andy Cummings in the Ellis car, which he did at Hamilton to secure the race win.
“It was a great way to end the season but safety cars cost me a 100 per cent record this year,” said Smith.
“In the first race it stopped me getting a lead I wanted before the stops and there was too much to do afterwards but got James around the outside at Riches.
“In the second race Tom went wide and it made it easy, but Andy was consistent and harder to catch, but we went side by side through Hamilton and I was ahead at the exit.”
