ROB Kiernan will soon be back in action for Southend United – despite suffering concussion midway through the second half at Chesterfield.
The on loan Wigan defender was substituted in the 64th minute after taking a blow to the head.
But Blues’ assistant manager Dave Penney does not expect Kiernan to be out of action for long.
“Rob took a whack to the head and taking him off was the right thing to do,” said Penney.
“Mark Phillips came on and did very well back there but we’re not expecting Rob to be out for very long and that’s good news because he’s been excellent for us
