Thamesmead Town 3 Billericay Town 3

BILLERICAY Town overturned a three-goal deficit to secure a point at Thamesmead Town.

The hosts raced into a three-goal lead during  a devastating seven-minute spell for Craig Edwards' visitors before skipper Richard Halle and a brace from Ricky Sappleton levelled the scores.

Shamir Mullings put Thamesmead ahead in the 24th minute and Rashid Kamara doubled the advantage four minutes later.

Things were looking bleak for Billericay in the 31st minute when Baff Addae added a third for Thamesmead.

But Halle handed the visitors a lifeline by pulling a goal back in the 42nd minute and ensure Town went in 3-1 down at half time.

Sappleton further reduced the arrears further in the 78th minute beforehand eh striker got the equaliser in the four minute of stoppage time, much to the delight of travelling fans in the 141-strong crowd.

The match at Bayliss Avenue only went ahead following a pitch inspection this morning and was one of only two Ryman Premier games to beat the wet weather. The other match saw Maidstone and Hendon draw 1-1.
