CARP anglers have been filling their bags at Rochford Reservoir, despite the bad weather.

Dan Sibley caught 35 of the fish in one session and had a dozen between 10lb and 17lb, and six others up to up to 8lb.

Most of his catches were taken on popped up halibut boillies or chick peas while he fished from the house bank.

Another to do well was Chris Morton, who took four nice doubles fishing out towards the well on ledgered baits.

Lake regulars Sean Thacker and Dave Gray have had a testing fortnight, though, taking just 20 carp between them up to a weight of 16lb.

Pole and float anglers have had a hard time due to high winds and torrential rain.

But those who have braved the weather have caught some nice size rudd, roach, bream and perch on red maggots.

If anyone wants to join Rochford Reservoir the rest of the season the club is now offering a winter membership for only £20. The deal offers membership until the end of May.
