BILLERICAY  will hope to avoid their ninth home postponement of the season tonight with Bury Town set to travel to Essex from Suffolk.

Town’s clash with Wingate at New Lodge on Saturday was called off because of a waterlogged pitch.

It means Craig Edwards’, left, side have only played once at home since November 23 and has left them with eight home games scheduled on the flood-prone surface before the end of February.

Heavy rain is forecast overnight and the Bury are likely to want assurances the game will definitely be on after their neighbours Lowestoft travelled to New Lodge only to see the game postponed shortly before kick-off.

Bury drew 0-0 at home to Thamesmead Town on Saturday and are eighth.

Elsewhere in the Ryman Premier tonight, East Thurrock will look to recover from a 3-1 defeat at play-off chasing Bognor on Saturday when whey entertain league leaders Wealdstone.

Rookery Hill has also repeatedly fallen victim to the wet weather this season and a fans should check whether the game is on before travelling.
