BILLERICAY hope to move within two wins of Twickenham with victory against Old Gravesendians in the fifth round of the RFU Junior Vase this weekend.

Billericay reached the final of the competition at the home of English rugby both in 1999 and 2007.

And coach David Hyett is now targeting a third appearance in West London.

“Tomorrow is very important for us as a club,” said Hyett.

“Too often previous success has been followed by a downward spiral so we are looking to build a five year success plan and fortunately for us the cup success has come in the first year.

“But rugby is first and foremost about enjoyment and this current group of players are president to that.

“Them all being great friends off the pitch only helps them to succeed on it"

Billericay are also five points clear at the top of Essex One and are keen to secure a return to London Three North East for next season.
