Southend United manager Phil Brown: “We didn’t win the game because we weren’t good enough but I’m baffled by some of the referee’s decisions, especially for the red card.
“The fourth official is standing about a yard away from the incident and is telling everyone he didn’t think it was a red card so why can’t he say that to the ref.
“We also had two blatant penalties turned down and I wish the ref could come out and explain his decisions.
“But we haven’t lost the game because of him, we’ve lost because we played poorly.”

The game is quite similar to Torquay away earlier on in the season, apart from I didn't crash my car this time!
Do you have to be bald to be a referee in the Football League?
Matt Rhead's low shot from 20 yards is smothered by Daniel Bentley
Been quite a flat start to the game but was always going to be like that in these conditions.
Floodlights are on already!
Great save from Daniel Bentley to keep out a close range effort from Sam Clucas but he should've scored.
Matt Rhead through on goal for the hosts but linesman flags for offside, must have been close.

The game is underway
Where are you all following the game from today then?
Conditions are grim for the game. The wind is very strong and the corner flags are almost blowing over to my right hand side. I've personally had to purchase another jumper and more socks from the Mansfield club shop to try and keep warm. Oh and it's also raining now. Apart from that it's lovely!
