GREG Bannister does not believe table topping Westcliff have been affected by their weather enforced break from London One North action.

Westcliff, who are three points clear at the top of the table, are due to host fifth placed Chingford at the Gables this weekend.

And Bannister feels the team will still go in to it in good shape, despite their recent postponements.

“I don’t think we’ve been affected at all,” said the youngster.

“We haven’t trained a lot of the times but when we have it has been very good and shown we’re still in good shape.

“It’s obviously been very frustrating not being able to play for a little while as we were staring to gain some momentum as a team to take in to the bigger games.

“But hopefully we’ll be able to play this weekend and get another good result.”

Westcliff will also be bidding for revenge after being beaten 22-15 at Chingford earlier on in the season and Bannister is expecting another difficult encounter.

“It's going to be tough as they beat us when we played them before,” said Bannister.

“With that in mind it would be nice to beat them this weekend and I'm sure if we play well that can happen.”
