CANVEY finished with 10 men but enjoyed a 2-1 win over Dulwich Hamlet at the Prospects Stadium in the Ryman Premier this afternoon.
Rob Bartley was sent off four minutes from time for a second bookable offence but it mattered little as the Gulls made it back to back wins and four matches unbeaten.
But Danny Heale’s team had to come from behind after Xavier Vidal put the visitors ahead in the 20th minute.
Jay Curran restored parity for Canvey Island
Jay Curran equalized for Canvey in the 33rd minute with a fine finish and Harrison Chatting added a second two minutes from half time in front of a 341-strong crowd.
The result lifted the Gulls up to 10th in the table on a day when only five Ryman Premier matches beat the weather.
Billericay are currently 14th while Rocks remain in the drop zone in 22nd spot.
Harrison Chatting scored the Gulls' winner just before half time
Concord Rangers’ Skrill South visit to Maidenhead United was also a victim of the wet weather which has caused flooding in the Thames Valley.
The whole of the Essex Senior League programme was again wiped out due to waterlogged pitches.
That meant the matches between Basildon United v Takely, Enfield 1893 v Southend Manor, Hullbridge Sports v Sporting Bengal United, London Bari v Bowers & Pitsea and Sawbridgeworth Town v Great Wakering Rovers join the growing list of fixtures that will need to be rescheduled.
