SOUTHEND United’s Tuesday night woes at Roots Hall continued with a 1-1 draw against Hartlepool United last night.

The Shrimpers seemed set to get back to winning ways when Barry Corr put them ahead just before the break.

But Bradley Walker bagged a second half equaliser for the Monkeyhangers.

The defeat meant Blues have now not won a midweek league game at their own ground since beating Gillingham in September 2011.

Last night’s draw ended a run of nine successive Tuesday night league defeats at Roots Hall for the Shrimpers.

However, Phil Brown’s side have now not won in six games and remain seventh in the League Two table.

Brown said: “I’m dis-appointed but the perform-ance of the lads was there for all to see. Hartlepool came for blood and credit to them.

“But if we keep playing like this with the right attitude then things will start to change again for us.”
