JOHN Coventry’s East Thurrock United have a difficult Ryman Premier encounter ahead of them this evening.

They face title-chasing Maidstone United in a tough clash which is bound to attract a decent crowd to Rookery Hill to support the Rocks.

Coventry’s team have endured a sticky patch in recent weeks – culminating in losing heavily to league leaders Wealdstone at the weekend.

Before this they also lost to Wingate & Finchley and also to local rivals Grays Athletic.

But the home game tonight will give Coventry’s men the chance to try to get some points on the board.

And with their last points coming thanks to a victory over Thamesmead Town way back on March 1 – Rocks need a boost.

They are currently fourth from bottom and will want to get some more points before they are dragged into a relegation dogfight.
