ALEXIS Van Costenobel and Karen Poole successfully defended their singles titles at Wickford’s winter finals.

Van Costenobel defeated Ryan Cleary 6-0 6-1 to keep the men’s singles title, while Poole saw off Mikki Allen 6-4 3-6 6-1 to retain her ladies’ singles trophy.

The ladies’ singles plate was won by Tricia Goddard with a 6-4 6-4 result against Serena Rahim-Shah.

Rory Young secured his first adult tournament win with a 6-0 6-4 win over Mudassar Rahim in the men’s singles plate.

Losing men’s singles finalists Cleary and Rahim teamed up to defeat Ken Ellis and David Crawford 6-3 6-4 in the men’s doubles Tricia Goddard got her second silverware of the day in the ladies’ doubles, where she partnered Glynis Exley to a 6-4 6-4 win over Lynsey Read and Mikki Allen.

The Bethan Lewis mixed doubles saw victory for Mikki Allen and Tony Bowman with 6-7 6-1 10-7 (Champions tie break) win over Tricia Goddard and Michael Allen.

The Warrick Cup Mixed Doubles Plate was won by Glynis Exley and Bob Chapman, who defeated Lynsey Read and Ryan Cleary 7-6 6-2
