Thanks for all sending in your questions. I will be holding another question and answer session next Wednesday.

5:23pm

With the season coming to a close which faces to you expect to see go over the summer with promotion and without?

Chris: "It's an impossible question to answer really. I think Paul Smith will go as he will want to play first team football. Marc Laird hasn't featured much lately so I guess he might as well and the same with Mark Phillips who is out on loan. Freddy is probably 50/50 so it's hard to predict. Out of those under contract, I would say Daniel Bentley is probably most likely to leave in the summer if we don't go up."

5:05pm

Why is Phil Brown saying construction has started on new ground? When clearly it has not! What is going on there?

Chris: "I'm not aware of him saying that. I thought he had said he wanted work to start. He certainly hasn't said that to me anyway."

4:56pm

After reviewing @SUFCRootsHall for a number of seasons and as a fan, do you think that the stadium will ever go ahead?

Chris: "I get asked this question the most. When I tell people my job, it's the first thing they ever ask me. Everyone is in very deep when it comes to the stadium so it kind of has to happen now really. But it's just been going on for so long that it's hard to believe it ever will."

4:48pm

Any stadium news, still no offical comments?

Chris: "Nope, nothing to report on that at the moment. "

4:31pm

According to today's Echo, Brown has said that Freddy Eastwood has "worked his way back into his thoughts" for selection against Rochdale on Friday. Taking into account his cost, how likely is it that Freddy's recent form will earn him a new contract at the end of this season?

Chris: "I spoke to Phil Brown about this the other week. He said it was something that he was thinking about and that there's an option to extend Freddy's contract for a further year if they want to do so. He also said much would depend on how Freddy performed during the remainder of the season. Personally, I think it will come to his fitness, how his knee is and if he actually wants to keep on playing."

4:12pm

I will be answering your questions on Southend United up until 5pm tonight. It's been another busy few days with a disappointing 1-0 defeat against AFC Wimbledon being followed by Ben Coker signing a new deal. The reserves also beat Gillingham 5-0 with Freddy Eastwood and Bedsente Gomis impressing manager Phil Brown so there's certainly plenty to be talking about.

Regardless of whether or not the stadium does get built, do you think it is a good idea. We cannot fill half of Roots Hall so moving somewhere less accessible and twice the size is illogical is it not?

I feel it will get filled, but for how long, we need to go up, and then fans will come, but if we keep going down, the crowds will go as well, but if we did at some point play in the championship, 2000 plus happy days! :)
